Poetry inspires, comforts, and brings joy to those who take the time to read it. Today, on Poem on Your Pillow Day, participants slip poems on the pillows of their friends, guests, family members, children, and lovers. These may be printed or handwritten poems and may be read aloud to the person they are given to after they are found.
How to Observe Poem on Your Pillow Day
Slip a poem onto the pillow of a friend, guest, family member, child, or lover. Write out one of your favorite poems by hand or use a printed copy. You could also find a poem at Tweetspeak, the founder of the day, or at the Poetry Foundation. If you are with the person when they find the poem, you could read it aloud to them.
