World Party Day
World Party Day is a "synchronized global celebration" that aims to make the world a better place through positive action and the celebration of life. Also known as P-Day, its motto is "Party is the opposite of war." It was inspired by Flight: A Quantum Fiction Novel by Vanna Bonta. At the end of the novel, a mass celebration where all of the world is united takes place. Readers of the book took the idea to make a world party from it. The first celebration, which was known as World Party I, was held in 1996, a year after the book was released.
The day has been celebrated on every continent around the world. The theme of the celebrations is a "universal human right to fun, peace and life." Celebrating and partying is done in large or small gatherings, or even alone. Foods and music from all over the world are commonly enjoyed. Events are often organized, such as concerts, dance parties, and meditations. But, events are not necessary in order to celebrate. All that is required is a "synchronized mass awareness of the human right to enjoy life, and displaying hospitality."
How to Observe World Party Day
The day is to be observed by partying! Organize your own party or attend someone else's. See if there are any events taking place near you related to the day. If you can't be with anyone, you can even party on your own. Taking positive action and celebrating life should be a part of your aim today. You could also observe the day by reading Flight: A Quantum Fiction Novel, the book that inspired the day.
