Today we celebrate all the friends in our life who are girls. Girlfriends may be friends we have made through places like work or school, or might be our sisters, mothers, or daughters. Although most maintain that today is for celebrating all friends who are girls, some say today is for celebrating that special someone in their life, their girlfriend.

How to Observe National Girlfriends Day

Celebrate the day by spending it with all your girlfriends. Girls can spend the day with all their female friends, and guys can do it too. Get all your girlfriends together and go out to eat, go bowling, go to the beach, or go to a movie. Those who have a special someone in their life who is a girl can spend it with them too. Do something nice for your girlfriend to remind her of how important she is to you. Take her to her favorite restaurant or her favorite hangout spot, or see if she would like to watch her favorite movie.
