IHOP gives out a free short stack of their Original Buttermilk Pancakes to each customer on IHOP National Pancake Day. During their visit, diners are encouraged to donate money to an organization that is helping children to fight illnesses. In the past, IHOP has taken donations for organizations such as Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, Shriners Hospital for Children, and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Millions of dollars have been raised since the day started in 2006. Guests can also enter into the Pancakes for Life Sweepstakes, which, as it sounds, is a sweepstake where those who enter have a chance of winning pancakes for life from IHOP. Contests for other prizes are held as well.
How to Observe IHOP National Pancake Day
Celebrate the day by stopping at IHOP for a free short stack of buttermilk pancakes. Check before you go, as not all locations participate, and hours vary by location. The special is dine-in only. While you're there, donate to one of the children's organizations that IHOP is supporting. Donations can also be made online on the day's website. You could also enter into the Pancakes for Life Sweepstakes and in any other contests that are being held at IHOP. Participants are encouraged to share the hashtag #NTLPanCakeDay on social media while celebrating.
