child_friendly International Fisting Day

International Fisting Day celebrates fisting, a sex act where the entire hand is used. The day is used to show pride for fisting, and to raise awareness about the censorship and banning of fisting in much of adult entertainment. The day was created in 2011 by Jiz Lee and Courtney Trouble, who thought the day would help fight fisting censorship in pornography, because people would be learning about, talking about, and celebrating fisting. The creators of the day have encouraged celebrants to share stories of fisting, make videos of fisting, try fisting with a partner or alone, and to host sex education events.

The first International Fisting Day coincided with the release of Live Sex Show, an adult film directed by Courtney Trouble, which has a fisting scene with Jiz Lee and Nina Hartley. It was the first DVD release from TROUBLEfilms and was made as a fundraiser for the Center for Sex and Culture, being filmed at its yearly Masturbate-a-Thon. Many large distributors refused to carry the film because of its fisting scene, and some companies asked for an edited non-fisting version. The film's creators refused to censor it and released it to whoever would take it.

Distributors and sellers of adult film DVDs have often been afraid to include fisting because there is some fear they may be charged with obscenity. In the past, some have faced charges for the inclusion of fisting. The Cambria List and the the Miller test have helped determine what distributors and sellers are willing to put out, and International Fisting Day aims to change the dialogue about fisting to overcome these obstacles.
