Dare Day

Dare Day is a day dedicated to daring people to do things they normally wouldn't do. The origins of Dare Day are unclear, but a formal Dare Day has been celebrated in Manteo in Dare County, North Carolina since 1976.

How to Observe Dare Day

You can dare a friend to do something, or challenge yourself to do something you normally wouldn't do. This is a day for action and taking risks. If you are really gutsy you can heighten the stakes with a "double dog dare" or "triple dog dare".
