Ugly Truck Contest Day, known just as often as Ugly Truck Day, celebrates ugly trucks. A truck might have been ugly when it was brand new, or maybe a funky paint job, other exterior modification, or the passage of time made it into an ugly truck. Regardless of how it became ugly and what makes it ugly, it is celebrated today. The name of the day often has "contest" in it because many contests are held to see who has the ugliest truck. Newspapers and drive-in restaurants have hosted ugly truck contests on the day. Sonic Drive-in has held contests where they've given discounts on food for those with ugly trucks, and have given prizes to those with the ugliest trucks.

How to Observe Ugly Truck Contest Day

• If you have an ugly truck, drive it around. If you don't have one, buy one.
• See if there are any ugly truck contests happening near you. Newspapers and drive-in restaurants are good places to check for them. If you can't find one, you could host your own.
• If you have a truck but it's not ugly, find a way to make it ugly. Paint it some funky colors or smash some dents into it. This will increase your chances of winning contests.
• Look at pictures of ugly trucks.
• Follow the Facebook page associated with the day.
