Pro Sports Wives Day
Pro Sports Wives Day is for recognizing the wives of current and retired professional sports players, coaches, and executives. Wives of those associated with professional sports often work behind the scenes to support teams, the league, and charities. They help their husbands form foundations and other organizations to benefit the communities where they live, and they raise funds and awareness for various causes.
The Pro Sports Wives Association, a group that works to bring together wives in all pro sports, created the day, and the day is listed in Chase's Calendar of Events. In past years awards have been given to wives for things such as mentoring, philanthropy, entrepreneurship, and courage. Awards have also been given out to female athletes who are also wives, such as to former soccer star, Mia Hamm.
How to Observe Pro Sports Wives Day
Celebrate the day by researching about the wives of your favorite sports players, to learn more about them, and to see what causes they work on. You could consider supporting the charities, foundations, and organizations that they are a part of.
