Is there going to be something fun happening at work today, or is it going to be a boring or tough day? If it's going to be the latter, it is a day for staying home. Today you have a legitimate excuse to not go to work: it is a holiday. Not only is it a holiday, it's a holiday specifically dedicated to staying at home from work if it isn't going to be a fun day. Some people, to the amazement of many, actually have fun at work. Today they will be doing what they usually do, they will be at work. Even if this holiday falls on their day off, you'll find them at their job, because it's just so much fun.

How to Observe National Don't Go to Work Unless It's Fun Day

If there isn't going to be anything fun happening at work today you get to stay home. If there is something you are really looking forward to, then you should go. Are you afraid you'll get fired if you don't go to work? Then do some things to make work more enjoyable so you can still go in! Bring a snack or treat to share with all your coworkers, or go out to lunch with them. Listen to your favorite music while at work, or tell your boss about an idea of a fun project you want to work on!
