Insurance Nerd Day

Insurance Nerd Day celebrates everyone employed in the insurance industry. Pioneer State Mutual Insurance Company declared Insurance Nerd Day to call attention to the lack of interest of young people in insurance work, to attract young people to the work, to call attention to the great number of insurance professionals reaching retirement, and to dispel the myth that insurance work is a "boring" career path. When creating the day in 2016, Pioneer used social media to celebrate its employees and to encourage other insurance professionals to get involved in breaking the stereotype that the industry is boring. Self-described "insurance nerds"—a term of endearment for those enthusiastic and passionate about working in insurance—have propelled the holiday forward.

How to Observe Insurance Nerd Day

Celebrate by dressing up as an insurance nerd, as a way to show your pride in being a nerd, or to honor those who work in the insurance industry. Spread the word and share a photo and your thoughts on social media along with the hashtag #InsuranceNerdDay! It's also a befitting day to get into insurance work!
